مهندسان ارتش آمريكا جاسوسهاي رباتيك پرنده بسيار ظريف طراحي كردند كه به ادعاي آنها قادر به نفوذ به اراضي دشمن و جمعآوري اطلاعات هستند. 
اين حشرات جاسوس ميتوانند صدا را ضبط كنند، تصاوير ويديويي را منتقل كرده و حتي سلاحهاي ظريفي را شليك كنند. اين ريزرباتهاي پرنده ميتوانند در قالب حشرات بسيار ريز وارد زمينهاي دشمنان شوند و به منظور جاسوسي كردن، ماموريت خطرناكي را بدون اين كه جان انساني به خطر بيافتد، انجام دهند. اساسا هدف از ساخت چنين وسيلهاي، مينياتوري كردن ابعاد وسايل نقليه هوايي و بدون سرنشين براي استفادههاي نظارتي و كنترلي در عراق و افغانستان بوده است. نسل آينده اين وسايل هوايي موسوم به MAVها ميتوانند به اندازه زنبورهاي عسل باشند و بدون اين كه قابل شناسايي باشند به داخل ساختمانها نفوذ و عكس و صدا تهيه كرده و حتي به سوي سربازان دشمن شليك كنند. به گفته اين مهندسان، با استفاده از رباتهاي جديد جنگيدن در شرايطي انجام ميشود كه آسيب و خسارتي به شهر و شهروندان وارد نميشود. البته هر چی گشتم نتونستم ویدیویی از طرز کار اونها رو پیدا کنم.تنها فایل انیمیشن وجود داشت نه ویدیوی واقعی. فکر کنم به خاطر مسایل امنیتی بوده.
اما عنکبوت جاسوس :
ROBOT insects like those seen in the hit film Minority Report are being developed for the Army to hunt down enemies, carry bombs and identify weapons.
The dragonfly and spider machines will be taken into combat by soldiers who will put them into tracked vehicles to move closer to targets.
They will swarm into buildings and occupied areas like the spy spiders in Tom Cruise’s 2002 film.
Images will be relayed back to soldiers by the devices, which are being developed by British defence contractor BAE Systems.
Steve Scalera, programme manager for the £19million project, said: “We’re trying to harness nature’s designs.
“Evolution has done a fabulous job of producing extremely efficient and capable systems.
“We are providing an enhanced awareness for soldiers, basically an extension to their eyes and ears. They could have them within six months.”
BAE Systems say that once production is in full swing each bug will cost no more than £100
